The team at Income Access has had a packed calendar of iGaming conferences over the summer, attending SBC North America in May and going to the Philippines for SiGMA Asia in June, before heading to iGB Live! in Amsterdam in July.
These conferences are vital for the iGaming industry, giving our team of affiliate marketing and iGaming experts the ability to connect with affiliates and operators, to better understand their needs and where this industry is headed.
Being able to attend these events has provided us with important trends and insights that we’ve put together here for anyone who couldn’t attend or needs a recap of what took place.
We look forward to seeing the iGaming community at the next one!
New Verticals Emerging
Along with the common chatter that surrounds verticals like sports betting, casino and lottery, there were other emerging verticals that received plenty of attention at these events. Sweepstakes is an example, with both operators and affiliates flocking to the space and brands reporting exciting growth in the area. According to a recent report provided by Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, the online sweepstakes industry in the U.S. has been valued at more than $2.5 billion, showcasing the immense growth this vertical has already seen.
There was also talk of crypto casinos and their growing place in the iGaming community. In recent weeks, a report from CasinoRIX mentioned that the number of bets processed with cryptocurrencies was up 83.6% in 2024 when compared to mid-2022, showcasing the rapid growth of this vertical.
Digital vs Physical
Though a physical business card is a staple of many iGaming conferences, some markets use different systems to connect with prospective partners. While European and North American shows still see a high use of physical business cards, conferences in the emerging iGaming markets of LATAM and Asia have a different approach. In these areas, it’s far more common to exchange digital business cards through apps like Linktree or through direct connections on WhatsApp and Telegram.
WhatsApp and Telegram are also the preferred way to communicate in the LATAM and Asian markets, as compared to the typical approach of connecting through LinkedIn or email that is common in Europe and North America.
Affiliates Need Relevant Data
Things move fast in the iGaming world, meaning that affiliates need to be able to react quickly and optimize their campaigns to be effective. Affiliates who have access to real-time statistics, like the ones provided through Income Access’ affiliate software, can adjust quickly and provide additional value for operators.
There are a variety of factors that can affect an affiliate, like Google algorithm updates, regulatory changes or new products, making it vital for affiliates to be provided with relevant, up-to-date statistics so that they can navigate the rapidly changing iGaming landscape.
AI and Privacy
Every industry is currently discussing AI, along with how it’s affecting them and how it can be harnessed to improve efficiency. The iGaming industry is no different and all the conferences had a lot of conversation about how AI can help operators and affiliates operate more easily.
Whenever AI is discussed, privacy and security aren’t far behind, as they are major talking points both for and against this technology. In the iGaming world, the hope is that AI technology can help brands fight against fraud and be used to prevent counterfeit transactions.
Looking Ahead
The recent iGaming conferences we’ve attended have emphasized the iGaming industry’s dynamic nature, with new verticals and technologies rapidly reshaping the landscape. As the sector evolves, staying ahead means embracing these changes, whether to digital networking trends, or leveraging AI for greater security.
Our participation in these events reaffirms the importance of collaboration and innovation, ensuring that both operators and affiliates are well-equipped to navigate the future of iGaming.
