Affiliate Q&A – Charles Herisson, CEO at Betadvisor

By On

In our latest affiliate Q&A session, Charles Herisson, CEO of Betadvisor, a UK company that provides professional sports betting advice to a wide base of global customers, shares his experience working in the iGaming industry for over a decade. Here, we will learn more about the Betadvisor product and Charles’s work, in addition to how he came to be in the position he is today.

Income Access (IA): To begin with, tell us about your background in Affiliate Marketing in the iGaming industry and how you came to be in your current role.

Charles Herisson (CH): Since I was a child, I would complete statistical analysis on the performance of football teams and players, so I decided to make a career out of it! I moved from Italy to London, where I then started working with some of the most famous professionals in the sports betting arena.

In 2010, I started working with Moneybookers (currently known as Skrill) as an affiliate, collaborating with Lorenzo Pellegrino. I’ll never forget our first meeting together. I have always valued building strong personal relationships with the people I work with, and with Lorenzo, we had something extraordinary. Working with Moneybookers, I was surprised about the massive potential of the affiliation markets, so I started my affiliate venture with a network of more than 150 gaming brands.

In May 2014, I invested in Betadvisor. I had previously been a happy customer of the company and an affiliate too, so I was excited by the opportunity. My current role at Betadvisor is CEO and I am a member of the board in many other companies in Europe and the Middle East as well. At the moment, I am also running three different charity programmes to help out the community during this uncertain time.

IA: That’s very interesting. Now, can you tell us a bit about what it’s like working with you?

CH: First and foremost, I thrive on cooperation and am at my very best under a harmonious working environment where I can support others and encourage their growth. I love seeing the people I work with develop and gain great satisfaction through helping them become better at what they do.

I would consider myself a big “team player” and I’m always looking to explore new and creative ideas. I am strong believer that fostering an environment of teamwork is a great way of turning ideas into action. I also strongly encourage independence and creative thinking – I have found that doing this is a great way of cultivating a space where people feel comfortable sharing ideas openly.

I thoroughly enjoy being able to use my creativity as an outlet for developing initiatives that hold a humanitarian focus, as this is something I hold close to my heart. I love to think about extraordinary ideas on how to make the world a better place and work hard to make them a reality.

IA: You said you are a big advocate for humanitarianism. How does this translate into your work at Betadvisor?

CH: I would say there is definitely a link between my desire to help and the values of Betadvisor. At Betadvisor, we want to prevent gambling addiction, foster safe gaming and develop a healthy culture of responsible gaming at the global level. We are continuously trying to expand our network of partnerships around the world with companies and individuals who share the same set of values we do. Along with all our stakeholders, we strive to create a better world.

We are big supporters of different charitable activities and we believe strongly in our social commitment built on global thinking and local action. We want to continue to collaborate with our partners to spread a healthy gaming culture.

By the end of 2020, we aim to start working with five new B2B partners to create new brands in the tipster niche and help them grow to become prominent affiliates or operators within their local markets. As always, we will also continue to provide our unwavering support to all charities, individuals and other companies interested in helping people.

IA: Great to hear you are committed to such a great cause. Moving over to the business side of things – can you describe the main services and markets of Betadvisor?

CH: Betadvisor offers tailored services for VIP customers in the gaming and financial industries. We create various software solutions for both tipsters and affiliates and help our partnered brands realise their marketing communications strategies. With an extensive network of more than 200 websites, we still have a strong appetite for M&A and are always interested in exploring opportunities to purchase affiliate companies with websites related to our business.

Since 2010, Betadvisor has focused primarily on sports betting, financial services and CRM solutions, but so far this year, we have been growing rapidly in other verticals such as casino, forex, crypto and Esports. Our main markets of interest are currently Western Europe, USA, Africa, Latin America, Australia, China and India.

Today, Betadvisor has an extensive network of more than 1,000 affiliates. They have an international presence with more than 1,000 advisors and partners offering services to more than 125,000 customers in over 80 countries.
