With our latest Meet the IA Team post, we take some time to speak with Christian Stoltenberg, a Business Development Representative working on the Income Access team. Christian provides valuable insights on the iGaming industry, the market in Brazil and much more!
Name: Christian Stoltenberg
Position: Business Development Representative
Background: I joined Income Access in June of 2024, marking my way into the iGaming industry. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, but I never worked as an engineer. My first job was actually in the financial market. I came from the investment brokerage sector in Brazil, where I spent most of my time working in sales. As such, I’ve always had an interest in finance, sales, and marketing.
Tell us a little bit about your past work experience(s) and how it helps with your current role at Income Access:
I’ve had experience in sales management and leadership, training, and customer success. Some of my key achievements include overseeing the performance of more than 300 salespeople and managing customer success strategies for over 80,000 clients.
Now, with these experiences, I can approach sales from a strategic perspective, identifying the most important factors that drive our clients’ decisions to work with Income Access. Additionally, I understand that to ensure long-term relationships with our clients, we need a transparent and healthy sales process to prevent misalignments in the future.
What’s a typical day for IA Sales Representative look like?
My day consists mainly of two things:
- Engaging with prospects and companies that have already shown interest in our products and services, and who have previously reached out to us.
- Creating strategies to attract new clients, which includes studying the market to identify emerging companies, and keeping a close eye on established brands to spot opportunities.
In both cases, I focus on building new relationships with potential clients who might benefit our solutions.
With so much focus on the Brazilian iGaming market, how different are your conversations with Brazilian iGaming companies vs the rest of the world?
One noticeable difference when dealing with Brazilian companies, or those looking to enter our market, is that Brazil is still going through several important regulatory processes, which often impacts the launch of new brands.
Regardless, there’s a noticeable excitement around the Brazilian market due to the immense opportunities here. Foreign companies, in particular, are eager to establish their operations quickly to capitalize on this market.
Are there any fun facts about yourself that you’d like to share?
I have lived on three different continents: Europe, Africa, and Latin America and I worked for two years as a volunteer in three different countries: Peru, Egypt, and Brazil.
I’ve also had many different pets: a dog, a cat, a rabbit, fish, turtles, and a hamster.
What does a typical weekend look like for you?
What never changes is my routine: I do some kind of sport, meet friends for dinner and drinks, and on Sundays, I always have a traditional family lunch. During the summer, I spend my time at the beach, as I live just a few steps from the ocean.
What are some hobbies that you enjoy?
I enjoy going to the gym, swimming, hanging out with friends, and watching TV shows.
